What I'm doing
On the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of June I'm setting off on a 145 mile race along the length of the Grand Union Canal. The race is an organised event, which I'm very lucky to have got a place in and I've been training hard to build up to it.
Who I'm doing it for
I've decided to do this one for charity again. Partly because it's the furthest I've ever run, but mainly because Severn Hospice is a fantastic local charity. Even if you're not local, I hope you'll be able to show your support for what will be a massive challenge for me (and my body!)
About the race
If you want to know more about the race itself, have a look at this link - http://www.gucr.co.uk/
The Grand Union Canal Race is the longest, toughest, non-stop race in Britain. I'll be running with a support crew tracking my progress and providing food, clean and dry clothing and any first aid needed, but other than that, I'll be spending around 2 days running non-stop along the route from the centre of Birmingham to the centre of London. My time limit is 45 hours, so there's no time to stop!
How to donate
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving – they’ll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they’ll send your money directly to the charity and make sure Gift Aid is reclaimed on every eligible donation by a UK taxpayer. So it’s the most efficient way to donate - I raise more, whilst saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
So please dig deep and donate now. Claire will keep you all up to date on my progress on race day!
