Everyone's heard the statistic "one in three people" will be physically affected by cancer but cancer doesn't just stop there. Cancers evil web catch's everyone around that person and in the end we all have a battle and part to play.
That's why the eight of us Dan Woods, Laurie Bone,
Alex Young, Mark Cullen, Andy Richards, Paul Jobling, Jon Alessi & Mark Harley want to do something for the cause. All of us in one way or another have been or are in that web and we thought its time to do something about it.
So we put our heads together for things we could do to raise awareness aswell as a bit of cash along the way for Macmillan Cancer Support, who are a great charity that have supported many of us in various ways.
Thinking now a cake bake, treasure hunt, grow a tache; were all better ideas than the 12 mile obstacle course we decided on!
So on the 26th September the eight of us will be wishing we've done more training, less drinking and generally thought about what we've sign up for when we head down to Winchester for The Tough Mudder Event (https://toughmudder.co.uk). Obstacles named Electroshock Therapy, Arctic Enema and Balls To The Wall, no longer sound funny but horrendous.
It's not going to be pretty & not sure if we'll all make it through but we're going to give it a go!
So if you've been touched by cancer, know someone who has or just want to help others in this situation, then please show your support and make a donation to the charity of our choice: Macmillan Cancer Support (http://www.macmillan.org.uk) via this page.
Any amount no matter how small will be gratefully received!
Thanks From Us All
The Tough Mudder Eight
