Story
Toby was shocked when his mate Pete first told him about his daughter Zoe having scoliosis and quickly learned it meant she urgently required major spinal surgery due to her spine growing with a 59° curve! The cause is currently unknown with this condition, but it affects 4% of children and is 10 times more likely in girls! This felt very close to home and as a father of two, Toby felt compelled to help raise £75k for Zoe to have Non-Fusion surgery which is surprisingly not available on the NHS or through health insurance!
Toby has since recruited his close friends Andy and Davie to help with the cause and they collectively picked the challenge to make the long journey from London to Scafell Pike in the Lake District and climb England's highest mountain for 5 hours on Saturday 18th July 2020.
Andy said ahead of the challenge "looking forward to this epic adventure with my brus (South African slang for buddy) there will be great laughs, exercise and most importantly helping Zoe to continue doing all the things we take for granted like hobbies (surfing) and music (drumming).

Surgery can be avoided if scoliosis is identified early enough in children aged 10+ sadly the NHS doesn't run regular check-ups for this condition so help other children by creating more awareness via a tool Pete has developed here on this website https://zoesscoliosischeck.com helping parents with diagnosing in their children early on to avoid complex surgery.
