Story
St. Raphael's cared for Dad/Grandad towards the end of his life. They have been absolutely amazing. Their care was second to none, even giving him a glass of his favourite whiskey now and again and cooking him a "nice bit of belly of pork" when he fancied it as well as making sure he was a comfortable as he possibly could be. The care didn't stop at the hospice, they visited him at home and even now, Mum/Nan gets regular calls to see how she is coping. So as a family we wanted to give a little something back. The Hospice, strives to improve the lives of those affected by terminal or life-limiting illnesses, giving them and their carers the confidence to cope and enjoy the best quality of life possible. They care for patients wherever and whenever they need them. They believe that hospice care is about life and living, not just death and dying. The Hospice needs £6 million a year to run, relying heavily on public donations, legacies and fundraising to keep going. Thanks to the generosity of the public, they are able to make an enormous difference to the lives of 1,000 terminally-ill patients every year. The Hospice is not state-funded, even though every one of their patients is an NHS patient. They receive about 24% of their costs from the NHS and the remainder, more than £4 Million per year, they need to raise ourselves. Your support is greatly appreciated and really will make a difference. Thank you from Donna, Rod and Brogan xxx
