Story
Over the Christmas period the Isle of Wight Salvation Army support families in need by providing hampers whilst also supporting individuals living in isolation by inviting them to our Christmas Day lunch.
Hampers provided to families include a food hamper that will serve a family there Christmas day dinner, presents for children in the family, a hygiene pack which includes all basic hygiene items as well as cleaning products and finally a treat hamper which will include Christmas chocolates, hot chocolate etc. Little things that can make Christmas feel special.
In 2023 the Isle of Wight Salvation Army served 127 families on the Isle of Wight. We anticipate this number to continue this year, if not increase due to the increasing rise in cost of living.
In addition to this the Isle of Wight Salvation Army open up the church on Christmas day and provide a sit down lunch for individual's who would otherwise be lonely/isolated. During this time individual's will receive a Christmas dinner and desert, a gift, tea/coffees, fellowship and company.
The money you donate will go directly to this Christmas appeal and therefore you will be directly supporting others within your community.
