In November 2013, our grandad was admitted to St Catherine’s Hospice. Grandad had been waiting for a bed to become available for a while and had been in limbo a bit. When the hospice became his home, the whole family felt at home too - and there’s quite a lot of family! The staff at The Hospice did a fantastic job of looking after grandad, and all of us too. But this can’t be done without the support from fundraising. We want special occasions to be marked - birthdays, anniversaries, Father’s Day etc etc. as we look forward to the opening of the new hospice site, we want to show our appreciation to The Hospice. Charlotte, Leanne, Bethen and Emily are going to take on The London Landmarks Half Marathon. Grandad has missed graduations, promotions, weddings, babies but THIS is would have absolutely made his day, to see us four running a half marathon! I’m fundraising for St Catherine’s Hospice in Crawley; a local charity with a big ambition – to make sure nobody faces death and loss alone.
