<p><span style="font-family: "Century Gothic"; color: blue;">…….There are around 298,000 new cases of cancer diagnosed each year in the UK and more than 1 in 3 people will develop some form of cancer during their lifetime</span></p>
<p><span style="font-family: "Century Gothic"; color: blue;">8 People in my family have been diagnosed with cancer, not all of whom survived, so I know what a huge difference this money will make, and I speak from the heart when I say The Christie is truly an amazing place.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Century Gothic"; color: blue;">It is one of Europe’s leading cancer centres, treating over 40,000 patients a year and every penny you give will </span><span style="font-family: "Century Gothic"; color: blue;">fund projects at The Christie which are outside the scope of the NHS. Last year nearly £12 million was raised, which funded a whole range of things, including a new radiopharmacy, to communications skills training for nursing staff, a new state-of-the-art surgical robot, groundbreaking cancer research and our wig service (to name but a few).</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal"><span style="font-family: "Century Gothic"; color: blue;">The huge difference this makes to patients is apparent across the entire organisation –helping patients both cope with and survive cancer.</span><span style="font-family: "Century Gothic"; color: blue;"> </span></p>
