On my 40th birthday I was diagnosed with stage 3 ovarian cancer. Two weeks later a second primary breast cancer was discovered which was quite aggressive, I could say that without the ovarian cancer raising its head, the breast cancer would not have been found in time and I would not have been given the six years that I have enjoyed since the original diagnosis.
Through the great work of the Royal Marsden they have managed to inhibit and maintain my disease, enabling me to achieve some of my goals in life; but most of all this has been made possible by the kindness and support of family, friends, colleagues and on some occasions complete strangers.
My family, who have been so strong for me and have always encouraged me to just be myself and to take life by the horns, have given me a life where I have never known tragedy insecurity or a sense of not being loved. My husband Keith, has never tried to change me and has given me everything. Life with Keith is an adventure and he has completed me.
Sadly, things change and my time is now up. I want for nothing and need for nothing but my greatest wish is that other people in my situation are given the support and care that I have been provided with. Which is why I am asking for people to help me support the Princess Alice Hospice to enable them to carry on their great work through people's generosity.
Thank you,
Theresa x
