We made a short film, The Pianist of Yarmouk, to tell the story of Aeham Ahmad: a classically-trained musician attempting to escape the war in Syria for safety in Europe. We wanted to show what life is really like for people who are forced to flee their homes. You can watch the film here: http://thepianistofyarmouk.com
Today, there are 6 million Syrian refugees like Aeham and a further seven million civilians displaced within the country. That’s 50 families every hour of every day since the war began.
The people of Syria desperately need our help, so we’re raising money to support the brave medics of Doctors Without Borders / Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) - one of the few organisations still working in Syria as well as with refugees in the camps of Europe and the Middle East.
In the face of endless violence and a bitterly cold winter, MSF’s humanitarian work means the difference between life and death.
YOUR DONATION OF:
Six years of war has caused vaccination programs to collapse and deadly outbreaks of disease are common. Your donation will help MSF to mass-vaccinate refugee children and protect them from preventable diseases.
Syria is desperately short of doctors, with medical staff often targeted by bombings. MSF clinics often provide the only healthcare to entire regions of the Syrua. Your donation covers the costs of ensuring medical professionals will be where they are needed most.
Pre-natal care is unaffordable and unavailable to most Syrian families surviving as refugees in countries such as Lebanon - risking serious complications for pregnant women and their unborn baby. Your donation will fund one Cesarean operation (C-section) to help save the life of a mother and child.
MSF needs your support. The people of Syria need your support. Please donate today.
Thank you.
