We are excited to support the Scott Carter Foundation for the upcoming runDisney 2023-2024 Season! We will be participating in both the Wine & Dine 10 km / half marathon and the Marathon Weekend 10 km / half marathon. It has been our Petrie Family mission to keep runDisney as an important part of our lives. The Scott Carter Foundation has made a difference for children's cancer research in the honor of a courageous young boy, Scott Carter. We are hoping to contribute to his legacy and use his inspiration to keep our family moving forward on a path of healthier living.

The SCF is devoted to raising funds for children's cancer research. Scott was a 13-year old boy who died in December 1993 after a courageous three-year battle with bone cancer. He believed that if enough time, energy and money were devoted to children's cancer research, a cure could be found. During the duration of his illness, he put together a remarkable collection of sports and celebrity memorabilia, which was previously on display at the Wide World of Sports. Each year, SCF partners with runDisney to participate in all their run events to raise money and further Scott's dream of finding a cure!
