Story
Our darling nephews didn't have an easy start in life. At 16 weeks gestation my amazing Sister-in-law, Quinn, underwent surgery to save Robin and Mackenzie's lives when they developed TTTS.
TTTS is a rare condition where twins share a placenta but the blood and nutrients aren't evenly distributed to each baby. It was utterly terrifying to wait for the outcome of the surgery, and thinking about when we sent my brother, Billy, and Quinn off to the hospital the morning of the surgery still brings me to tears.
After surviving that the boys then developed TAPS (an imbalance in red blood cells between the twins) when essentially their first surgery wasn't completely successful.
After all that they were then born early, at 33 weeks and spent weeks in NICU.
Now, thanks to the team at St George's, my most favourite little dudes are crushing it. Packing on the weight, laughing and smiling. To think that things could have turned out so differently for our family doesn't bare thinking about.
So, The Perry's will be taking part in the Twins Trust 10k walk (the most exercise I've done in literal years, thanks to our girls!) to help raise money to support other families going through the same thing. We owe our family to them and the team at St George's.
If you can help us reach our goal we would so appreciate it!
