Story
In 1986, our grandad and three friends completed a 130-mile wheelchair push from Sawston, Cambridgeshire to Amsterdam in The Netherlands. In April 2020, the four of us (Paul, Adam, Simon and Alice) will follow in his footsteps to raise money for two charities that have given him a great deal of support: Arthur Rank Hospice and Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis. None of us have any experience of using a wheelchair prior to this event so we expect this to be an enormous challenge!
Arthur Rank Hospice supports people in Cambridgeshire living with a life-limiting illness and those who need end-of-life care.
Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis advocates for patients and provides support to improve their quality of life. They support research into improved outcomes and greater understanding of the disease and work to raise awareness among of IPD (Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis) amongst the medical profession, decision-makers, and the wider public.
We would like to try and raise and equal amount for each charity but please feel free to donate to whichever page you would like.
