Story

The team comprises dance students, parents, friends and families of The McPherson Dance Studio who are embarking on this charity fundraiser by challenging themselves to walk 310,000 steps during the month of March in aid of three very special and worthy charities. Not an easy feat on top of all of those dance classes! The charities are based in Aberdeen, Berwick-Upon-Tweed and Edinburgh - the home of the Principal and the two areas where we hold our classes.

In Aberdeen we are supporting WeToo!, a charity that provides help to parents and carers of children with additional support needs. https://www.wetoo.org.uk

In Berwick-Upon-Tweed we are supporting HospiceCare North Northumberland, a charity that provides palliative care in the area and offers care and support to people living with life-limiting illnesses as well as supporting their families and carers and all those who are important to them. https://www.hospicecare-nn.org.uk

In Edinburgh we are supporting Visualise Scotland, a charity that helps to support people with a variety of disabilities including physical, learning, sensory and communication. http://visualise.org.uk

The McPherson Dance Studio is aware that the past year has been an incredibly difficult time for everyone and the impact on small charities has been significant. It was for that reason that our team of students, parents, friends and families of The McPherson Dance Studio decided to come together, challenge themselves and raise as much money as possible for these three very worthwhile charities who will each benefit immensely from the money raised.

Be sure to keep an eye on our Facebook Page (https://www.facebook.com/TheMcPhersonDanceStudio) for lots of updates. Look out for our various video diaries and photographs of our walks as we keep you updated on our walk of 310,000 steps each during the month of March. It's sure to be a challenge but a lot of fun too!

We kindly request that donations are made as equally as possible between the three charities.  Please also ensure that you select the correct team member charity to which you wish to donate (double-check this by selecting the link to the team member page) - WeToo!, HospiceCare North Northumberland or Visualise Scotland.

A big thank you to all who support us and donate to our fundraiser! 😁. We are extremely grateful.
