The Margaret Centre provides specialist palliative care for people affected by life-limiting illnesses such as cancer, neurological conditions and end stage heart or lung conditions.

We support patients, families and carers both in the community and within Whipps Cross Hospital.

Services are available to people living in Waltham Forest and to those people in parts of Redbridge and Essex who look to Whipps Cross Hospital for their care.  

We aim to:

• Help people remain independent for as long as possible and achieve the best possible quality of life.
• Assist and support patients to be cared for in the place of their choice for as long as possible.
• Enable patients to experience a dignified death, as far as possible in the place of their choice.
• Offer support and advice to patients, carers and families in their experience of the illness and in bereavement.
• Offer support and advice to other healthcare professionals.
