“The light and the end of the tunnel project” 

My name is Brian Sharkey - Managing Director of OneBore Ltd, in 2022 while working with HB Tunnelling I set up this page in recognition of the importance of increased mental health awareness across the construction industry, being very concerned about my colleagues and team mates and there lonely confines during covid, as they continued as part of the nations critical workers, living away from their homes and families in the solitude of lonely hotel rooms. This concern led me to research mental health in construction and the statistics that I was faced with again and again, reflected the stark reality of the industries effect on the mental health of our people.

Motivated by the reality of the challenges that face so many in our industry, I set up this page to raise mental health awareness and with the help of our clients, colleagues and friends we aim to raise much needed money for those that support our mental health, and the pledge to support this critical service continues with OneBore Tunnelling.

OneBore will continue to make a commitment to raise money for the benefit of “MIND” – supporting Mind is important to us, so we can do our bit to help raise mental health awareness and encourage a more open forum for discussions around mental health within the construction industry.

We will donate £5 to MIND for every metre of shaft or tunnel completed  by OneBore Tunnelling. We invite all stake holders to engage and support us and we will invite our major suppliers to donate, along with colleagues and friends. This just giving page in the name of “The light at the end of the tunnel project” is provided to facilitate all donations.
