Story
Hello and thank you for visiting my fundraising page!
Sadly, in February 2016, India, aged only 22, died unexpectedly as a result of a rare secondary cancer, after suffering with Ulcerative Colitis for 8 years with no remission.
India was the most incredible girl I've ever known. She was always smiling, positive and full of life, despite being diagnosed with this disease at only 15. She never let it beat her and was determined to bring joy into the lives of everyone she met! And she did just that!
She was a great musician and athlete and was such an inspiration to everyone!
We would spend hours in her car in the McDonalds carpark, chatting about all my travel plans, my girl troubles, her boy troubles.
She would just laugh and think I'm crazy if I told her I was travelling the world on a motorbike by myself! But I know she'd probably be more excited than me! (and she was always the first person to like my photos on Instagram! What a great gal)!
So, I will be circumnavigating the world solo on my Honda CRF250L motorcycle! Travelling overland through Europe, Central Asia, Russia, USA, Canada, Central and South America, New Zealand, Australia and eventually up the continent of Africa!
I am raising money for Crohn's and Colitis UK - the UK's leading charity in the battle against Crohn's and Colitis and Ulcerative Colitis.
Crohn's and Colitis are the two main forms of Inflammatory Bowel Disease, affecting more than 250,000 people in the UK, yet it is a largely hidden disease. Someone faces the life-changing diagnosis of Crohn's or Colitis every 30 minutes - a quarter of those diagnosed will be children.
I recently returned from a shake-down trip on my bike in Europe and fell off 23 times, so I'll need all the luck I can get to make it around the world! But I'm determined to successfully make it for India, and stop off through the country of India on my way round as well!
With your help the charity will be able to provide even more practical support, fund vital research for people facing this life-changing chronic illness and ultimately find a cure! I know India would be behind all of us as we support this charity!
