Story
In 2022 we raised over £100,000. This year we hope to raise x23 times that.
My name is Iain Ward, I'm 31, and have Brain Cancer. I was lucky and my tumour was found before I had symptoms, and so my life expectancy will be 1-5 years of relatively high quality life. With those years, I want to break the world record for fundraising as an individual in a marathon, I'm also going to try to break the record for fastest marathon dressed as a video game character at the same time. My plan is basically to start a big pyramid scheme on social media, and get people to follow all my accounts, and get them to get their friends to follow all my accounts, and so on, until I end up with a huge audiance, which I can pitch to companies to advertise/promote their products/servivces on the big channel, but to have the payment go directly to charty, making it tax deductable for the company. Compaired to other social media platforms this system makes it both more financally efficient and better for the company's image.
1 in 2 of men and women contract a form of cancer in their lifetime, meaning everyone on earth is at least saddened by the suffering of someone close to them. Every year, progress on treatment and detections for the causes of cancer is improved. This funding will go towards the betterment of everyone's life across the world.
And yeah, i suppose the same goes for scary/hopful stats to mental health, suicide, not enough support, blah blah blah you get the drift.
