Story
Thank You for Visiting the Jim Withyman Tribute Fund.
Jim and I were so grateful to land at St Michaels, and were able to make the very best of our final six weeks together because we were there. It is a very special place.
When Jim's cancer had progressed to the point where a spinal
tumour had caused paralysis from the waist down, he needed specialist nursing care, which we couldn't provide at home.
At this point we were also told that he had weeks to live. To be moved
from the trauma of the hospital to the lovely surroundings at St Michaels hospice was magical - even in those awful circumstances, we felt so blessed to have a place. We had our six final weeks together there, where the whole family was incredibly well supported and cared for. The outside areas brought Jim enormous joy - the birdlife, trees, view and in the evening on the balcony, the stars. Such a beautiful place for Jim to spend his last days.
We're raising money for St. Michaels to ensure that this special place continues to be available for local people into the future
Thank You
