Story

(from Save the Children)

Save the Children works in 120 countries globally and across 15 states in India for children's rights, inspiring and promoting breakthroughs in the way the world treats children, in order to achieve immediate and lasting change in their lives. It is determined to build a world in which every child attains the right to survival, protection, development and participation. We deliver immediate and lasting improvements to children's lives worldwide, working for:

- A world which respects and values each child.
- A world which listens to children and learns.
- A world where all children have hope and opportunity.

I feel very grateful to be able to compete in these events, and the races i run are made even more special, knowing that the work ive done to get to the start line in one part, will not only help me run a fast 26 miles, but in another part, will be making a contribution to improving the lives of those less fortunate than us (please note that absolutely none of the monies raised here will ever be used for personal expenses!)

In 2020, im helping two charities (one for each of my major races) who both do amazing work to support communities and provide a better chance at life for those less fortunate than us.

Through my running, Ive raised tens of thousands of dollars for charities in the past, and enjoy the challenge of meeting my charity targets, as much as i enjoy the challenge of training, preparing and to be on the start line for each race.

Much of what these charities provide are things that we take for granted, and we can all only imagine how different our lives would be if we werent fortunate to grow up with the basic necessities that these amazing charities provide to those without them - amongst all the other privileges i have in life, i probably wouldnt even be a runner!

Without doubt, your donation (which is tax deductible and can also be made anonymously) - big or small - is massively appreciated by me, and so much more so, by those in need who these great charities support.

My background in hospitality and events means that i will also be hosting some fun events throughout 2020 to help raise awareness for the causes im supporting, while also bringing the community together in celebration of our unity and support for these great causes - so stay tuned and if you're local to Brisbane or Australia, ill hope to see you there!

Off the back of some fast and inspired running through 2020,
Im thoroughly looking forward to your help and support and doing my best for these great causes.

With love and thanks,

C
