Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

It is said that you never forget how to ride a bike. Well, this is one bike ride that I will never forget! I am attempting to raise £5,000 between 2 charities; Bliss for Babies born too soon, too small and too sick, and The Sacred Heart School a small, very poor, rural school in India. To achieve this, in July 2013, I will cycle, solo, from Land's End to John O' Groats in 10 days....

My good friend Fenella had a premature baby, Rafferty. Rafferty arrived in the world almost 13 weeks early and was very, very sick, and spent a long time in hospital. It was a really scary time, and I  was unable to do anything very constructive to help at the time and always felt a bit of a prat when chatting with Fenella (That is Normal), wondering what to say and hoping what I was saying was the right thing.  I guess you all know that feeling. I wish to redress the balance by raising some money for the charity Bliss, a group who helped Fenella far more than I.  By doing this I can help support other families in this situation. Bliss exists to ensure that all premature and sick babies born in the UK are given the best possible chance of survival. That’s a big task for these little babies and their families, so please help me by donating now!

I am a teacher at St John’s RC Comprehensive School in Gravesend. The school has a strong connection with a tiny school in rural Darjeeling called The Sacred Heart School. The Sacred Heart School is a tiny school in a poor community, offering children the chance of an education which might help them and their families break out of the cycle of poverty. I feel that the money you raise really will go a long way to help The Sacred Heart School make a difference to the long term life chances of those young people.

The Sacred Heart School has no reliable IT so contact is difficult, and it has been a challenge to set up a way to make donations. This is where Anthony Lunch, CEO of The Mondo Foundation comes in. Anthony has very kindly agreed to collect all the donations via The Mondo Foundation and then divide them equally between The Sacred Heart School and Bliss. I would like to thank Anthony and The Mondo Foundation.

I am doing my utmost to support these charities, but to achieve that, I need your help.

Please help me make by donating now!

Thank you!
