Story
Thanks for taking time to visit our JustGiving page.
That time of year has come again for the Harvey Army to take to the streets of Portsmouth!
Just over 2 years ago our 11 year old little boy Harvey Ashworth was suddenly and tragically taken from us.
He was a wonderful boy with an incredible smile that brought joy to so many people. We miss him terribly every day.
Harvey loved the children's hospice Naomi House - which looks after terminally ill children whose lives will also be cut short. It is so sad that he should have had such a passion for a charity which in so many ways looks after the journey he and his family had to face so suddenly.
However, it is also a positive as he loved watching his Dad run the Great South Run and helping to raise money for them.
So this year, we're going to do it again but with a team that is more than double the size - and with an increased fundraising target. This year if we can raise £10,000 we'll be able to keep Naomi House open for a whole day in his memory while having lots of fun at the same time!
The Great South Run is on Sunday 27th October - it's a 10 mile run around the (very flat) streets of Portsmouth. Last year we had a fantastic 26 people finish the course together. This will be our 3rd year with a team of 60!
We will all be wearing as much pink as possible and of course wear Harvey's beaming face on our T-Shirts. For his family and friends that knew him it is a wonderfully positive day (I can't tell you how much it helps Luke alone), so not only will you be helping raise money for Naomi House - you'll also be helping to honour Harvey's memory in a fun and positive way.
