Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page. I have been planning a motorcycle trip, with the aim of visiting and photographing 82 specific locations. It will involve riding just over 4000 miles and travelling through every county of England, Scotland and Wales. I aim to be self sufficient, carrying everything I need on the bike, and to complete the trip over four days in August.
Nearly everyone knows someone who has been affected by cancer. My mum died from bowel cancer two years ago. The Macmillan nurses were incredibly supportive in my mum's last weeks to her and to myself, my brother and my sister. It is something which can come upon any of us.
I have previously raise money for the air ambulance and for blood bikes - I would like to use this trip to raise some money to donate to Macmillan.
I have started to record the story of the ride on my website at http://thegrimrider.moonfruit.com/?use_flash=1#/round-britain-ride/4594010007 and will add to it as I go along. The ride has not gone entirely to plan and I shall not be able to complete it in one trip but will still aim to finish it, albeit in several chunks!
Fundraising is hugely important to Macmillan. Without people doing events, running marathons, climbing mountains, and donating in all the other ways that you can, Macmillan wouldn’t exist.Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails. Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs.
