Great Wall of China Marathon
Fundraising for Maggie's Centres
Fundraising for Maggie's Centres
This story is essentially about an amazing friendship, my sister Nikki and her best friend Sue, they were brought together by a shared interest of running, they would run various distances together including marathons, one of their goals was to run the great wall of China marathon together in 2020, it was going to become the challenge of a lifetime.
Unfortunately Sue was diagnosed with bowel cancer in 2017 and very sadly lost her fight for life in Sept 2018.
My sister has made the very brave decision to carry on with their shared
aspiration, she is going to run the great wall in Sue's memory, I was very
honored to be asked to accompany her and run along side her.
We are undertaking this challenge and hoping to raise money for an amazing charity which is Maggie's in Manchester, Maggie's offers practical and emotional support for people with a cancer diagnosis, they also support family and friends through this journey.
It is going to be an emotional but amazing trip to Beijing. We are going
to do Sue proud and hopefully raise money for an organisation which was very close to her heart.

This year N Brown Group have chosen to support Maggie's Manchester, Maggies offers free practical, emotional and social support to anyone affected by cancer and their families and friends. Help is offered to anyone with any type of cancer and people can drop-in any time. The Centre is a warm, welcoming place for people to meet others or sit quietly with a cup of tea, but also offers the support of a full team of qualified professionals to help people find their way through the difficult cancer journey. Maggies Manchester has received over 23,000 visits since opening from people facing cancer and their loved ones, which is why it is so important to support Maggie's so people effected by cancer can continue to get the help and support they need.
