Story

Ashby Ward is 1 of 7 acute wards based within the Bradgate Mental Health Unit and currently supports 21 male inpatients, who suffer from a wide variety of mental health disorders such as Schizophrenia,
Bi-polar and Depression.  Ashby Ward is made up with Mental Health Nurses, Health Care Support Workers, Therapeutic Liaison Workers and a variety of Doctors, who all work very hard to support inpatients on their recovery journey, on a limited amount of resources.

Unfortunately there is not enough money to provide the much-needed extra resources to be able to improve inpatients environment and provide ward activities. Hence, the nursing team are undertaking a 26k Walking Challenge, starting from Ashby-de-La-Zouch Castle (after
which Ashby Ward is named) and ending at Ashby Ward, Bradgate Mental  Health Unit.

Via this walk, the nursing team of Ashby Ward hope to raise significant charitable funds to enable them improve the ward-environment and activity facilities for patients on the wards.
