Story
On the 4th May, Sana, Sidra and Zarina will be skipping through forests, prancing through the sub-tropical jungles of Peru and eventually scrambling up the mountain to the lost city of Machu Pichu! Now, my dear friends, you know us. You KNOW we’re not the usual outdoor types but still, it’s an experience. Rest assured we are in training and fully intend to drag ourselves up 13000ft in time to see the sunrise on the 4th day of our trek. Hmmm, we’re not exactly sure how we’re going to last in the wilderness with no plugs for our hair straightners but we shall soldier on frizzy haired.
At the same time we hope you will help us by supporting a worthy cause, St Francis, our local hospice, in memory of my grandma Hamida Sarwar. St Francis outpatient nurses provided my family with so much support during the most difficult time. It meant my Gran passed away peacefully at home, without ever going in to hospital, surrounded by people who loved her, exactly as she wished.
Grandma herself said that she had lived a happy life having done everything she had ever wanted to do. Though she’d probably tell us off for climbing a mountain we hope that she is proud that family and friends are supporting such a wonderful organisation through our big adventure.
Please read more about the wonderful work St Francis do at http://www.sfh.org.uk/ Oh and facebookers please catch up with them to http://www.facebook.com/pages/Saint-Francis-Hospice/82673869686?ref=ts, give them a “like” whilst you’re at it.
