Story
Hi there,
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I'm going to be attempting to set a world record for the fastest half marathon while dressed as a 'Gingerbread Man' at the Great North Run on 10 September 2017.
I'll be running and raising funds in aid of JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), a charity and cause very close to me and my family, as my sister was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes at a young age.
JDRF carries out vitally important work in not only helping fund scientific research into cure and prevention, but also in attempting to demystify some of the most popular misconceptions around type 1 diabetes.
The charity also works closely with the type 1 community to ensure children and young people affected by the disease are fully supported and educated on how they can manage their blood glucose levels most effectively and live a happy and fulfilling life.
I'll be blogging about my training and progress as I attempt to set a world record at www.thegingerbreadrunner.com, you can also follow me on twitter @sw_delaney so please check back regularly for updates.
If you are able to spare any donations, no matter how large or small, I would be incredibly grateful.
Donating through JustGiving is simple, fast and totally secure. Your details are safe with JustGiving - they'll never sell them on or send unwanted emails.
Once you donate, they'll send your money directly to the charity. So it's the most efficient way to donate - saving time and cutting costs for the charity.
Best wishes,
Sean
