Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

I'm running the London Marathon this year to raise money for Gene People. This is the second attempt at this distance for me now...

My daughter Millie was born with a very rare genetic condition. The effect of this condition is slowly revealing itself to us through a series of contacts with the NHS. What we initially thought was quite a minor cosmetic issue now appears to be considerably more damaging and we recently found out that the condition has severe implications for her fertility.

Gene People helped us understand the condition and put us in contact with other parents in a similar position. They have really helped us and now I want to help them by damn near killing myself trying to run 26 miles in one go.

I trained for the cancelled London Marathon of 2020 and, reluctant to waste the training, ended up running the distance in laps of my parents' garden. Which was nice but it wasn't quite The London Marathon, so I'm going to run my "one and only marathon" twice.

So many miles of training ... so many ...
