Story

Rams Staff Getting Set For ‘The Founders Ride’ For Prostate
Cancer UK.

Derby County staff are once again doing their bit to raise
vital funds for Prostate Cancer UK in a three-day cycle ride challenge this year.

At the end of June 2021, members of staff from the club are
planning to cycle some 250 miles over the course of the three days.

Their ride, known as ‘The Founders Ride’, will see them
visit the current stadium of each founding member of the Football League, all in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.

The ride will start at Burnley’s Turf Moor on the first day,
before concluding at Derby’s Pride Park Stadium on the third and final day.

Prostate cancer is now the most commonly diagnosed cancer in
the UK, and the money raised through the ride will be used to fund research into better diagnosis and treatment of the disease and support for men and their families affected.

The founding members of the Football League are: Accrington
Stanley, Aston Villa, Blackburn Rovers, Bolton Wanderers, Burnley, Derby County, Everton, Notts County, Preston North End, Stoke, West Bromwich Albion and Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Staff members from HUUB in Derby, a premium endurance sport
apparel and wetsuit brand, are also joining the team on the ride, including their Founder, Dean Jackson.

HUUB are helping with the logistics and routes of the ride
and also supplying all riders with a specifically designed kit, focussed around the Derby County 1984 centenary shirt.
