Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

We, the Extra Mile Team (comprising of Gowtam, Raheel, Inesh, Rohit, Tamara, Ekaahh,Abishai, Hareni and Soumya), have taken the challenge to organise a fun sports day for our families and friends in South Thorndon Country Park in order to raise money for Royal National Institute of the Blind (RNIB) in memory of our uncle, affectionately known as Appu Mama (Poologasingam). Appu Mama was fond of us and he always made the effort to ensure that we had fun every time we visited Malaysia, despite his disability, being blind. He always participated when we played rounders and badminton albeit from a distance due to his disability. Sadly, he left us without any notice when he suffered a heart attack in December last year.

So please dig deep and donate now. All entrance fees to the sports day event will be donated to RNIB. Minimum payment for each entrant from the age of 2 to infinity is £2.50. Do not fret if you cannot attend the sports day event as you can donate any amount via this site to help us reach our target. All funds collected via this site will be sent to RNIB directly. The sports day is on 29th August 2010, from 11 am to 4 pm at South Thorndon Country Park. Directions - at Gallows Corner, take the exit to A127, drive along until you see an exit to Highway House, at the roundabout take the 1st exit, and within  a minute or so, you will see the turning on the left to South Thorndon Country Park.
