Story
Hello!
I recently had the pleasure of helping The Children's Trust launch the #MyBrave Campaign. I will be taking on my own #MyBrave challenge by undertaking an abseil wall and 120 metre zip wire on May 29th.
Bravery isn’t only heroic acts. Sometimes it’s about facing your fears, rising to the challenge and overcoming obstacles, like many of the children with acquired brain injury have.
Every year over 40,000 children in the UK are left with a brain injury as a
result of an accident or illness. Many make a good recovery, but thousands have to live with ongoing, long-term difficulties. The Children’s Trust helps children make the best possible recovery through specialist brain injury rehabilitation.
The Children’s Trust is encouraging everyone to go outside their comfort zone, take on a challenge and do something brave to help raise money for children with brain injury. Whether it’s a sponsored swim, abseil, or something totally unique to you. Find your brave, visit
www.mybrave.co.uk for inspiration.
I first became involved with The Children''s Trust when my character Grace Beauchamp suffered a brain injury as the result of an accident and I visited the centre at Tadworth as research into the kind of injuries Grace would have suffered. It became so much more to me than a research visit. The staff, children and their families are an inspiration and the work they do at The Children's Trust is just phenomenal. I have kept in touch with them and and want to do whatever I can to support such an incredible place.
Please sponsor me whatever amount you can. Every penny is important.
Stay positive!
