Story
The Thirsk adoption centre was acquired by The Blue Cross in 1987 and finds loving new homes for more than 500 unwanted cats and dogs every year.
20 years on many parts of the centre are are in desperate need of attention. If we fail to do something now, the work we do for so many homeless pets could be compromised.
Our goal is to raise £1.5 million. Please support our appeal and help us to build the adoption centre that the pets in our care need and deserve.
Specifically, the money will pay for:
· A new kennels block with better designed kennels that will dramatically reduce the stress that some dogs experience while living in kennels.
· A new admissions block that will allow us the space and time to assess the health and care needs of each new arrival.
· A new isolation block for animals that need to be housed separately from the main kennels and cattery, such as those who have serious health problems.
· A new puppy and kitten unit that will help to give young pets the best start in life.
· A new play barn where owners can get to know their new pets away from the distraction of the kennels, helping them to find the perfect match so much more quickly.
· A refurbished reception area including meeting room and a much-needed larger staff room.
Please give whatever you can to our appeal so we can create a centre that will serve the needs of all the pets in our care and find many more of them loving homes for years to come.
Thank you
