UPDATE 27 SEPTEMBER
I am happy to report that all four of the Wallies completed the challenge (see new photos). It would be a lie to say that they were unscathed at the end, but they all made it. Thanks so much for your incredible support before and after the event, which made all the difference on the day.
Neil / Hutch.
TARGET INCREASED DUE TO OVERWHELMING SUPPORT!!
AND AGAIN!!
It was all Duncan's idea...
"How do you fancy a trip to Berlin in September lads?"
"Sounds great Duncan, count me in"
"Good stuff, I'll sign you up"
"Wait... sign me up?...what?..."
"Oh, did I not say? We're doing the marathon"
And so, it came to pass that four fools, from all corners of Great Britain, would travel to one of Europe's great cities in the autumn of 2011 in an attempt to tame the 26.2 miles of the Berlin Marathon.
But, of course, it's all for a good cause. We are raising money for Cystinosis Foundation UK, a charity close to the heart of one of the runners in particular (Neil / Hutch), whose daughter Morven was diagnosed with this very rare genetic condition in November of last year. See charity website for more details of the illness and how the money will be spent.
We've all been training our little socks off for the past few months and your support will be a huge help in motivating us to keep putting one foot in front of the other in September.
THANK YOU!
The BWs.
