I am lucky enough to have gained a place running in the 2500^TH anniversary of the original . A very special date which will be celebrated by the other major marathons around the world this year.   Running from the town of Marathonas to the Olympic stadium in Athens, as a very hilly course it is recognized as one of the most difficult of the modern popular marathons.Having previously completed the London and New York marathons being able to run in such a memorable race is a great honour, but unlike Pheidippides I hope to finish and live to tell the tale. I am running to raise funds for ' Lupus Trust which carries out pioneering research into Lupus, a terrible disease that ultimately led to my mother’s early death
