Story
We have been supporting Heads On since April 2021 (after being delayed for a year due to the pandemic)
It has been a tough time for them as the need for mental health resources has been higher than ever and continues to be so as a result of Covid19.
As a company it has been hard to raise funds in our preferred methods, so it's really good to have this opportunity to get together in person and raise some much needed funds for Heads On.
#TeamMWB will be Walking 5K for Walking for Wards (we may do 10K if children are willing!)
- Lorna Gietzen (Isobel and Sophia Gietzen)
- Sam Dickinson (Scarlett Dickinson)
- Kirsty Grimley
- Clare Smith
It will also be great for us to be there and meet with the HeadsOn team, this will be the first in person event since we started our partnership!
Also to be waving the MWB flag and talking to people about why we are there and supporting HeadsOn will be good.
Walk for Wards Event:
Date: Saturday 11 June 2022
Location: Glynde Estates, Glynde (nr Lewes)
Sponsorship: We ask that our participants to raise as much as they can and set a personal fundraising target of at least £50.
Heads On are thrilled to see the return of Walk for Wards on Saturday 11 June!
Tucked away in the heart of the South Downs, Glynde Place is a rural estate and offers a beautiful backdrop for all the walkers and runners for an event that is proving to be a very remarkable day.
NHS Charities in Sussex are uniting to launch the event; asking participants to select the NHS Charity that means the most to them. The charities are challenging participants to take on either the 5km or 10km route all whilst raising vital funds.
Heads On - What they do:
Living with mental health problems can be life changing, but we believe that with the right support extraordinary things can happen.
Anyone can experience a mental health problem. One in four of us every year.
At Heads On we do everything we can to make things better for the people who come to Sussex Partnership for help, by providing funding for special projects, patient and family support, pioneering research and the transformation of your local mental health hospitals into more comfortable and welcoming environments.
Thanks to the generosity of our fundraisers, Heads On can help to provide the best possible support to people with mental health problems across Sussex and beyond.
