Story
Many of you will know that my study of English history has led me to conclude that Henry VII was our finest ever monarch. I have therefore decided to re-trace the steps of Henry Tudor in 1485, from the mouth of Milford Haven (where he landed on August 7th) to Bosworth Field where, on August 22nd, his success in battle made him king.
This will involve walking 224 miles in 15 days, at an average of 15 miles per day, and I will stay within a mile or so of where his army is known to have camped each night (no, I will not be camping !).
As you probably also know, I am a diabetic and it has only been the scientific advances of recent decades in monitoring and treatment that have made such a trip possible for me. I therefore hope to raise a few pounds for Diabetes UK, to support them in continuing to make life for diabetics even less constrained in future.
