Story
So this coming May 2022 I’ll be completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge in memory of my late husband Jason who died from a Glioblastoma brain tumour in October.
Jason was both an amazing Daddy and a kind, warm funny person. He had the most infectious smile and loved talking to anyone. Jason was diagnosed with Glioblastoma brain tumour in 2019. After brain surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy, we had a few months together as a family, before he died the year after. By raising funds for Brain Tumour Research we are hoping to find a cure and better treatment options, so other loved ones have better chances.
Jason was a hands on dad and loved spending time with the girls who were 8 and 2 when he passed away. He was witty, kind and at times very silly. There are so many things I could say about the person Jason was but instead, I will quote a few lines folk have used to describe him:
‘ He always cheered me up whenever I spoke to him.‘
‘ One of the nicest guys around.’
‘ Always smiling and made me laugh a lot.’
‘ Was a pleasure to be around with his dry sense of humour and cheeky smile.’
Jason was one of a kind. Funny, yet serious. Meticulous and detail focussed but weirdly chilled out and daft at the same time. The girls remember his cuddles and that he made them laugh so much.
To continue to raise funds to ensure we finally find better treatment options and a cure for Brain cancer, I will be completing the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on the 14th of May 2022, alongside Jasons best friend Carlus and a motley crew of our other friends and close family.
So we’ll be doing 3 Yorkshire peaks - Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-Y-Ghent, just over 24 miles and 5200 feet of ascent with the target to complete as a team within 12 hours.
If you can donate however little and share on social media or with friends and family, it will help us raise as much as we can towards brain tumour research.
