I was fortunate enough to be the recipient of a Willow Foundation Special Day in 2008.  The planning of my special day provided a light in one of the darkest times of my life, and I was lucky enough to experience my 'day' a week after being given the all clear from Hodgkin's Lymphoma. 

My 'day' was actually a long weekend in London where my husband and I were treated like VIPs.  We stopped in a luxurious hotel, we ate in the best restaurants, we had tickets to the ballet.  It was a magical time that marked an end to one of the most terrifying times of my life.  April 2013 will be the five year anniversary of my special day, and also five years since I was told I was in remission from HL.

I never make new year resolutions but this year I am - I would like to raise the money to provide a special day for somebody in 2013.  This will be through a range of different events and activities, many will probably involve cake.  Please watch this space for details.

I shan't be running any marathons but if you would like to run one for me please do :D  The same goes for jumping out of planes ;)
