After being blessed with robust good health for 72 years, 2012 could have started better!

In January 2012 I was diagnosed with prostate cancer. The realisation that this dreadful disease is in your body stops you in your tracks. In my case the prognosis was optimistic. The cancer was low grade, slow growing and contained within the prostate.

 

I am relieved to say that a year on I am now in remission, however, many victims are not so fortunate with their disease much more advanced before it is discovered. One in six men will be diagnosed with prostate cancer during their lifetime and although this cancer results in more deaths than any other cancer except lung cancer research is poorly funded and sponsorship is vital if new treatments are to be discovered.
