Story
In October 2013, as a normal 36 year old mum of two, I was diagnosed with an aggressive form of Breast Cancer. Ross, Imogen, Felix and I are on a tough journey, but we've gone into the treatment knowing that the outcome that we are aiming for is to cure me of all cancer. The road has been and is very hard, with Chemotherapy, surgery, radiotherapy, hormone and biological treatments being thrown at me, but I'm being given a chance because of the work that Cancer Research has done to find treatments for people like me.
In our journey we've had fantastic support from our friends and family, in particular The Gin Club, and I'm delighted that so many have decided to take part in this years Race For Life with Imogen, Felix and I. Hopefully we can pool our fundraising efforts and do something amazing to raise funds for Cancer Research.
I'm particularly proud that Imogen and Felix will be doing the race with me this year. It'll be my 8th race, Imogen's second, and Felix's first. Little did we know this year it would be so personal. This will be the first year I'll have walked the whole thing...but let me off.
