Story
I thought this would never happen to me, but just after new year I was took to hospital. I had a burst appendix, they removed my appendix along with a small part of my bowel and a tumour. I was diagnosed with a rare cancer called Pseudomyxoma Peritonei or PMP for short. I'm being looked after by Basingstoke hospital. I have already met with a consultant and nurse who assure me there is a good chance I can be cured.
It looks like I will need more specialised surgery which will mean a 10-14 hour operation then a 3-4 week stay in hospital in Basingstoke to recover. During this time I will be away from my family and friends. But it's thanks to charities like this that have enabled the research to be carried out and vital equipment bought, which will allow the specialised treatment to be available for people like me.
So together with the support of my family and friends we have started a group called 'The Fighting Fairies'. We want to help beat cancer for good.
