Story
The Bridge Project in Sudbury was recently the victim of a despicable fraud that has resulted in them losing £10,000. This money is really important for The Bridge as this money would be used to ensure that they can support and help more people in the community.
The Bridge Project was set up in 1995 as a local charity, to assist disadvantaged adults within the community. To this day, they are dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing environment to support those living with dementia, learning disabilities and those experiencing mental health issues. Through their meaningful work, they create opportunities for personal development and building friendships.
The Bridge ethos is to work together and bring people together. As a result, the café on Gainsborough Street is a hub of creativity and inclusivity – open to all. The talented kitchen team produce fresh, delicious snacks, lunches and afternoon teas using locally sourced, Suffolk ingredients.
The Bridge Project provides and maintains a series of social activities, a hot meal delivery service and creative workshops for all ages. For local businesses we have meeting rooms for hire and a catering service available if required. Support groups for those living with dementia and their carers are open to residents in Sudbury and the surrounding areas. They also run Bazaar in Gainsborough Street and have recently opened a residential project for people with learning disabilities.
