I was diagnosed with Prostate Cancer in November 2021 at just 34yo. After diagnosis PCUK were a knowledgeable outlet to talk to whilst ensuring I had all the information and help I needed in what was a really difficult time for myself and my family.

I've since undergone a month of targeted Radiotherapy at the Beatson Cancer Hospital in June 2022 and have been taking daily and monthly medication since. Life has changed a fair bit since my diagnosis but I tackle it head on every day and appreciate life more than ever. 

I'd like to give something back to the charity which is close to my heart, PCUK. Myself and my good friend, Robert are going to play 72 holes of golf in a day spanning from 7am to 10pm at my home club, Prestwick St Cuthbert GC. This will be the equivalent of walking approx 26 miles and will not be easy given my health troubles and dodgy back! Luckily I have some time to build up the miles in the old legs.

Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles. But it doesn’t have to be this way. I’m taking on The Big Golf Race to help raise money and awareness of prostate cancer to keep men in the game for longer. Your donation will help fund lifesaving research to find better tests to diagnose men sooner.
