Story
On the 15 August 2023 five of my fantastic colleagues and I
(Martin Melges, Russ Penny, Greg Lamprill along with the support of our two
unsung backroom hero’s Randy Salway, Declan Coyle, ISG and Knowle Golf Club in
Bristol) are attempting ‘The Big Golf Race’ under which we will attempt to
complete ‘The Ultra’ 100 holes of Golf in one day in aid of Prostate Cancer UK.
As a team, we request the support in the form of a donation to
Prostate Cancer UK through the just giving link below in consideration of the
incredibly valuable work they do in raising awareness of this disease and the
support they provide in the form of research and assistance.
Prostate cancer affects 1 in 8 men in the UK. That’s
thousands of dads, brothers, partners, grandads, mates, sons and uncles. But it
doesn’t have to be this way.
Your donation will help fund lifesaving research to find
better tests to diagnose men sooner.
Our own team member Martin had his own personal battle
with Testicular Cancer in 2023 and whilst he talks openly about his experiences
as one of the very lucky ones (which result in a positive prognosis), without
the high quality information readily available from such Charities as Prostate
Cancer UK, Macmillan and Movember, he says ‘I would have been left wanting in
the early days for accessible information about Cancer and my condition, whilst
waiting for tests and results to conclude. The quality promotion and
accessible education of Cancer as a disease and the fantastic work these
organisations Prostate Cancer UK, Macmillan and Movember do in supporting
research and more widely patients with less positive prognoses than myself
cannot be underestimated and has to be supported’.
We look forward to hearing from you and your support!
