We fund enhancements and added extras to make our patients stay more comfortable

Story

Every year Bedford Hospital's Special Care Baby Unit nurse over 300 premature and sick full-term babies.

As a level one SCBU within the East of England, we work closely with our tertiary centre at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital who are our Neonatal Intensive Care Unit. We transfer around 10% of our babies on SCBU for intensive care. Transfer are carried out by a specialist transfer team and when well enough the babies come back to Bedford for continuing care.

Demand for our specialist services is on the increase so the SCBU appeal has been launched to raise additional funds to buy extra equipment and enhance the unit, to ensure that the babies and their families are treated in the best possible environment.

Thank you for your support and for all the donations to help support our Special Care Baby Unit.
