Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page. The Aspinall Girls are 'running' the Leeds Half Marathon in May 2018 to raise money for Alzheimer's Research UK. This cause is very close to our hearts as not only did we lose our Grandma to Dementia in 2012, but now 2 of our grandparents have been diagnosed with this heartbreaking disease. This has ultimately affected and impacted on our families lives for over 6 years.
Inspired by our amazing grandparents, we have decided to take part in this life changing event to honour their beautiful minds, beautiful memories, and beautiful souls.
**Since setting up this page and deciding to take part in the Leeds Half Marathon, our lovely Grandma Margaret passed away on the 2nd of Feb, a week before her 82nd birthday. We are completely devasated to lose another grandparent to this disease and now have even more motivation to raise as much money as possible and make her proud. We want to thank everyone who has donated so far and to the people who have supported us through this difficult time xx **
PLEASE help us to raise money for Alzheimer's Research so that this fantastic charity can continue their mission to defeat dementia once and for all.

-A 1/4 of hospital beds are occupied by people living with dementia who are over 65.
-46% of people identify Dementia as just loss of memory and only 23% actually identified it as caused by brain disease.
