Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
On May 15th, at 1.30am, me and my wife went to the hospital because we hadn't felt our baby kick in a while. We thought everything was okay when we heard a heartbeat, given that we had lost a baby in 2019. Around 2.15am, the midwife and doctor came in to tell us that our little one was in some trouble and that the baby needed to be delivered immediately. After getting over the shock of what was happening, our rainbow daughter was born – 2 months premature at 2lb 11oz.
If it wasn't for doctors, nurses, and midwives at William Harvey's neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), I'm not sure our daughter would be with us today.
Seeing my baby in an incubator with tubes everywhere isn't the ideal first meeting. She was so small. She could fit in the palm of my hand. The love and affection the nurses and doctors showed filled us with belief every single day. The work that goes on in NICU is unbelievable and every baby is treated with the greatest of care.
After 6 weeks in the hospital, our little bundle of joy was able to come home and she's now 10lb and counting. This is also a reminder that everyone isn't as fortunate as us.
To help raise money for NICU, I’ll be embarking on a 24-hour podcast, streaming live on YouTube. There will be no breaks, except toilet breaks. I co-host a podcast called Breaking Atoms hence my love for the medium.
Expect fun and games.
