The 1945 - Making Magic Things Happen for Dementia Uk

The Nineteen Forty Five Air Raid Cafe is raising money for Dementia UK

Making Magic Things Happen for Dementia Uk · 8 December 2021

Dementia UK is the specialist dementia nurse charity. Our nurses, called Admiral Nurses – who we continually support and develop – provide life-changing care for families affected by all forms of dementia, including Alzheimer’s disease.

Story

The Air Raid Shelter Café and Tea Room have teamed up with May Blossom and Top Notes Choir to record a charity single, with some help from World War Two veteran John Pearce and some of our fabulous customers. Under the  name The 1945, we chose to cover 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' because of the connotations of coming home from the struggles of dementia and the feeling of loss associated with the illness.

So many people have already bought the single but want to do more so we decided to set up a JustGiving to raise even more for Dementia Uk. Thank you all so much for getting behind the record!

The song is available on Amazon as well as all major streaming platforms but please donate if you can (or share if you can't) so we can raise money to support the valuable work of Dementia Uk. If you can spare just 99p, please download The 1945's 'Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)' from Amazon.
