Fundraising for Rays of Sunshine
Story
Rays of Sunshine Children's Charity brightens the lives of seriously ill children by making their wishes a reality, and their work is Santa approved!
This December Rays of Sunshine are asking you to join their #BeMoreSanta movement and help them grant wishes for seriously ill children. Childhood should not be about illness, treatments and hospital visits but instead should be filled with happiness, joy and magical memories.
This September Ginnie joined the Rays of Sunshine Wish team and has seen first hand the difference that these wishes make to children and their families and has convinced Leigh, Mike and Bryan to join her in Being More Santa this December.
Over 12 days in December they will be (and any other poor souls that join along the way) will be running and cycling each day building up the distance to finish with 12k on the 23rd. From the 12th - 16th we will run/cycle 5k each day. From the 17th we will add 1k each day to the distance, finishing on the 12th k of Christmas on the 23rd! Mike is being a super Santa starting with 10k then increasing each day so his last run will be a massive 17K!
This will cumulatively add up to 88k or 55 miles over the 12 days. This will hurt a lot, we will be running and cycling in the dark, cold, rain and wind (and who knows possibly snow!) There will be no breaks between days for recovery!
