Story
Through the tough times, Racing Welfare have been there to support the stud, stable and associated thoroughbred staff working in the thoroughbred racing industry. The charity have helped and supported friends and colleagues over the years, this endurance challenge seemed a great way to be able to give something back.
Racing Welfare are experiencing a significant drop in income as fundraising events and activities have had to be cancelled and with no idea when they might be able to start them up again. They are therefore looking at a loss of fundraising income in 2020 of around £500,000 at the present time.
How could 3 work friends help? Whilst giving something back? Well why not run a 1 mile loop for 24hrs in a relay style endurance event with the aim of running 111 miles, who knows we may even run more. We certainly won't stop when we reach the 111th mile.
This challenge will test Team Green to its ultimate limits, a challenge like no other. Whilst I'm no stranger to an endurance event, I fully appreciate the extremes this fundraiser is going to take to complete this 24hr run challenge. The physical and mental exurstion shall be next level, and let's not forget the muscle and joint pain either.
COVID-19 has made 2020 a nightmare for us all so why not take on a charity challenge worthy of helping others by pushing ourselves to the ultimate limits of endurance. Your charitable donation to this challenge shall help towards giving welcomed relief to hard working staff of the thoroughbred industry needing help during these extremely testing times.
