Story

So TFA are taking on their hardest challenge yet….giving up alcohol this January in memory of our other team member, dear friend and former colleague Anne Giblin who was taken  too soon from family and friends on the 15th December.

There are so many amazing memories we both have of working with Anne at The Prince of Wales Hospice, we’ve laughed, cried and were always there to support each other during the good and challenging times as a fundraiser.. If you were fortunate to have met Anne you’ll already know what a kind, caring, and compassionate person she was especially in her role at the Hospice.

Anne loved her job as In Memory and Legacies fundraiser and was brilliant at it, she always knew exactly what to say to comfort and support those that had previously lost loved ones who wanted to give something back to the hospice.

She once said “It’s a privilege to meet so many inspirational people - patients and their families, fundraisers and supporters, staff and volunteers.”  Well Anne it was a privilege for us to have known and worked with you and how inspirational you were too,

Anne loved musicals and theatre and had an amazing voice which brought everyone to tears at the Hospice talent show a few years ago with her rendition of Somewhere over the Rainbow. She lived for her weekends, spending  time with her family and friends whilst enjoying her favourite bottle of red.

At her families request they have asked for donations to her “In Memory” page and therefore we feel it’s a fitting tribute to take on the Dry January challenge as she did  on several occasions to raise funds for the Hospice. We will remember our after work TTP (Tea Time Pint) sessions on a Friday along with team nights out, such great memories we will treasure forever.

It would mean a lot  to Anne’s family, us and the Hospice if you could support with a small donation in Anne’s memory as we take up this challenge.

We miss you Anne, let’s hope we can do you proud and get though the next month and raise lots of money for such a wonderful charity you were so passionate about.

RIP lovely lady until we meet again at TTP
